Evidence is pointing to possible steam on the historically traction/ diesel Grafton and Upton. From http://www.railroad.net (See the last post on this page for the start of the thread.)

The steam team from Boothbay seems to involved also.

Good news. She was a regular part of my childhood summers when she was Wolfeborough #250. I am not old enough to remember her on the WK&S. It was quite a time in eastern New Hampshire in the 70's with two very different steam operations connected by the intact (but partially OOS) B&M Conway Branch.

The Conway Scenic put on a colorful show befitting its ski town locale, while the Wolfeboro was a more traditional green-coach, black-loco operation in a more upper crust town. Dwight Smith and Don Hallock went about things in different ways, and I will always be grateful for having been able to experience both operations numerous times.

Sign me up for a time machine ride when #250 is done.

Hi
Yes I do hope this does happen , the G&U is not far the house , Steam in Hopedale, Mass,
The last time I rode her cab was at Wolfeboro when my friend Bob Dustin was firing her, when he vacationed in Wolfeboro. Patrick Fahey

This would indeed be good news for the steam starved northeast. Further, the G&U could use all the goodwill they can generate with the public at large to further their freight development plans. The new propane terminal is not being very well received so far despite the RR asserting certain legal authority to proceed regardless.

I really like this engine. Years ago I bought a photo of her from the WK&S and kept it in a frame on the dresser in the bedroom so I could look at her every day. When we re-did the bedroom it disappeared. Suspect my better half did not care for this other woman.
