Good Evening, this is my first day on Railway Preservation News. I've collected various home movies and have converted several to digital. One of my best film is that I have the Union Pacific Steam Turbines #1 & #2 being tested on the NYC at Westfield, NY. This set is only in black and white with the units being painted in the GE brown. But I do have a short section of them in Union Pacific paint scheme and in COLOR. Supposely this is the only known live footage of them in color. I would like to communicate with anyone that has an interest in these. I am also looking for photos of them when they were operating on the Great Northern. I probably have over 50 various films, including the Train of Tomorrow.

I'm sure many would love to see your films. Can you post them to Vimeo or Youtube?

There is good information on the GE steam turbine-electrics in "The Streamliner" (the UP Historical Society magazine) Vol. 10 No. 2 (1995)

I'm not familar with Vimeo. I have one video on Youtube at Westfield, NY on the New York Central. It has some great railroad footage. I will be downloading most of my films on Youtube within the next couple of weeks. I'll see if I can get a copy of the "The Streamliner". Thanks for your info.

Could you provide a link to your video as I would love to see it. I tried to find the video that you did mention and I couldnt find it.

Now that's some remarkable footage! Amazing that this finally surfaces after 75 years! And the 999 in tow is the cherry on the sundae....

Yes, great footage! And did anyone catch the number of the Hudson that had the 999 in tow?

Tried to do a snapshot of it off the video and all I can tell is that it begins with a "5" and ends in a "2". Sorry
