Hi,

I saw this on Facebook of all places. There are a pair of Baldwin 0-6-2's in eBay. They are of Hawaiian heritage. They are 36" gauge.

I'm not well versed in pricing steam locomotives, but 150 grand for the pair doesn't seem like that bad a price. Someone tell Disney lol

Buy a couple steam engines on speculation from Phillipines, ship them to California, then sell them on eBay.

Sounds like a business plan to me! Easy money!

I tried to find these in steam locomotive.info. Any clues?

Wesley.

I do not have them in our database (nor on the site). I am communicating with the seller to get the necessary information to add them.

They were built by BLW in 1899 and 1916 for plantation service on Oahu. They were resold to the Hawaiian Philippine Co near Silay City in 1947 and were in use until the late 80's/early 90's. About 2004 they were purchased and taken to Georgetown CA for restoration that didn't happen. It was planned that they would go to a tourist RR at Kilohana Plantation after restoration. I was lucky enough to see them both in action at HP Co in 1982.
Cheers,
Ray.
