We have a couple of bad door closers on our mid-fifties era VIA coaches. For the life of me, I can't seem to find any information on who manufactured them. They appear to be a right bugger to fix - looks like you have to take the door down and disassemble it to replace the closer.

If any one has done this job, or has the link to a supplier for the closer, we would be most appreciative.

To narrow things down: this is from an ex-CN CCF coach from c. 1955, right?

Bought Corbin line of door closer. Rebuilds, parts, replacements.

I've only had them work on Corbin closers for WRM, but I'm pretty sure that they could identify your closer and possibly rebuild it if needed.

Yes, Canadian Car & Foundry about 1953 build date or thereabouts. Pretty sure, but not positive that CN was the original owner.
