What a fascinating project. CN's Electric Fleet gets little attention. As far as I know, there are only three that have been preserved, though they made a park engine out of one of them (even in 1995 people still hadn't learned about the futility of park engines).

All three that I know of are from the Z-1-a class of 1914-7, built for Canadian Northern by General Electric. Here is some roster data.

Add 6714 at the Connecticut Trolley Museum to Joe's list of preserved CN electrics.

Thanks. At least 2/3 of the Z-1-a class was saved, the oldest and most historic of the CN electric fleet, dating back to the Canadian Northern Railway.

Apparently 6712 survived up until 2011, when it was finally scrapped, after sitting under a tarp at Town of Mount Royal maintenance facility for 15 years.

I believe that the UK National Railway Museum did give some consideration to obtaining one of the English Electric built boxcabs that CN obtained secondhand from Montreal Harbours Board. This was mentioned in an interview with one of the former NRM Directors in a UK rail magazine a few years back and was something that I was certainly not aware of.
Unfortunately nothing came of that proposal and the EE ones were all scrapped.

At least I did get a ride behind a pair back in 1991........
