Does your organization keep files on larger artifacts, such as locomotives and rolling stock? If so, what do you keep in them?

Photos? Restoration plans?

What documentation do you use to demonstrate how a piece of equipment was restored and the methods used?

We keep two files on streetcars in the collection. One is the shop log of running repairs, notes and comments. A second file in the archive contains correspondence, photos, notes and other history of the cars.
