I notice it has been well over a year since the Springs street car group has updated their web site. Has their status changed recently? If so does anyone know what is happening there? Thanks.

The Colorado Springs Trolley group is alive and well and growing. Form what I have seen I can say the following:

The group received a series of historic trolley cars and bus(es) from RTD last year.

They have been continuing the careful and detailed restoration of trolley car # 59.


The group also has been searching for the one thing it really needs - more space. While the group would not give up its current space at the former Rock Island roundhouse, the group could also use more room to store and maybe work on more cars indoor.

Besides the trolley group, there is a presence from the Friends of the Cumbres and Toltec restoring a pullman car. There are equipment displays by the Museum of Railway Workers and a Museum dedicated to the Rock Island railroad.

Good news thanks, just get worried when a web site goes quiet.
