What was the status of the B&O Collection from the end of the 1927 Fair until the Museum opened in 1953? Where was is stored, etc.?

Some of it did go to Worlds Fairs and other events, or appear in movies,
during that interval.

dagnabbit, where did my copies of B&O Power and ther Sagle book on B&O motive power go?

As I am to understand it, the models/replicas and some of the older locos were stored in various buildings of the Mt. Clare Shops in Baltimore, hither and yon here and there, until the formal opening of the roundhouse along Pratt Street as the B&O Transportation Museum in 1953.
