Everett Railroad No. 11 Lives Again

I am very much looking forward to getting out to the Everett Railroad and seeing B&H #11 running again. She was the first live steam engine that I ever saw or rode behind when my parents took me to Rail City in Sandy Pond, NY, back in the 1960s. I still have some 8mm movies that my dad shot of her pulling a single combine around the loop up there.

I suspect that in her new livery, she won't be carrying the cab lettering that I remember most. I recall that it said: "The Champagne Trail" on it. Neat engine. I need to photograph this little gal.

I have it on very good authority that Everett 2-6-0 will begin her revenue career November 7, 2015 with three one-hour round trips from the Everett's brand new station in Hollidaysburg, PA to Brookes Mills, PA. Departures are scheduled for 11:00 am, 1:00 pm, and 3:00 pm. Adult fare will be a very reasonable $12.00.

Actually, Everett RR No. 11 makes its debut this coming weekend, with charter trips on Saturday and public trips on Sunday. All public trips on Sunday, as well as those next weekend, are sold out.

We appreciate all the interest and kind comments. We have been blessed with a great group of guys who shepherded the project along over the years. As can be expected, the test runs left us with a punch list of minor items to finish or correct, but nothing at the moment that would keep the engine from running our fall schedule.

Just to clarify, the trains for the Roaring Spring (PA) Rotary Club this coming Saturday October 17 will be diesel powered. Our Pumpkin Patch trains Sunday and the following weekend are scheduled to be steam powered. All the October trains are already sold out so we have added Saturday November 7 to the schedule with three round trips behind steam from Hollidaysburg to Brookes Mills and return. The engine is expect to also power our Santa Trains in late November and December.

Wow!! I just took a look at the schedule, something like 30 trips with steam power!
