This is a listing of new and improved documents at the Pullman Library, Illinois Railway Museum as of December 2015.
During the summer of 2014, two van loads of drawings were received from Bombardier Transportation of Canada. Of the drawings, 90% were from Budd and 10% were from Pullman. Bombardier continues to hold title, we are the permanent repository for the material. Copies are supplied under Bombardier license, educational use only, for car restorers and model makers also including model manufacturers and historians. The charges for copies totally support our activities as we are totally self supporting within the museum. This year's costs are significant as we provide a stable environment for indexed drawings on shelf. Here is the roundup of material from Canada:
- Late Pullman passenger car drawings (including the bi-levels) plus specifications and drawing lists.
- All drawings from the Budd Company's Red Lion Plant, plus drawing lists for post-1950 cars.
The drawings were received rolled, about 20 drawings per 5-inch square tube. A search involves going through all those drawings for a particular drawing number.
Two file drawers of Pullman car negatives by Plan Number, i.e. P-S rebuilds, currently being cataloged.

- In addition through a generous donation, we now have photographic records of Donald O'Barski, retired photographer at Pullman and successor companies.
- We also have been obtaining more Pullman glass plate negatives as they become available.

Status of Pullman files: Nearly all drawings are organized for searches.
Status of Budd files: 70% of Budd late model passenger cars have been placed on shelf.
Pre-1948 drawings are in 220 5-inch square cardboard drawing tubes listed by "canister" number. We catalog each drawing, doing about 12 tubes per week with estimated completion in three months hence. In the meantime we will be unable to answer orders for pre-wwII Budd drawings.
Status of negative and print files: Accessible.

With all best wishes for the Holidays, Ted Anderson - Pullman Library curator

The Pullman library is a valuable asset. Ted is a superstar among archivists and librarians.

Three things to remember when calling Pullman for assistance:
1: Know your Lot Number
2: Know your Drawing Number
3: Be nice to Ted!

Additionally...do not be afraid to pry your wallet open and pay for copies. The monies go directly towards running the library and preserving these valuable assets. Too often I talk to people looking for drawings and they tell me.."yeah, Pullman has the drawings I need but they CHARGE for copies"...get over it!!!

Thanks for all you do Ted!!!
