I think that was during one of their Founders Days where they ran a special two car train. I don't remember how many years they did it but my girlfriend and I rode one of the years which was interesting because I've never ridden behind an industrial critter like that. I seem to remember that the locomotive was acting up toward the end of the day.

Still not on property yet. Lots of cool stuff going on in their shop though.

I'm curious if it's going to wear its Maine Eastern lettering the entire time it's there, or if it'll get a quick Strasburg patch.

Hi,

When I saw the video, my fisrt thought was Southern Railway. Then I noticed the small differences. Good looking loco.

The process of leasing a locomotive usually includes returning the Loco in "as received" condition, minus normal usage.

Why would the SRR want to spend any amount, even a few bucks, on repainting a locos name only to have to spend more to fix it in a few months?

Maine's loss, I may add. M&E put a great deal of pride and money into the old Rockland branch. They also were working up passenger service with successor, CM&Q is not interested in pursuing.

Details on a special mixed train photo charter on the Strasburg on May 28th, using Maine Eastern 764 and as many freight cars as possible, are posted in the Classifieds forum and at http://www.baltimorenrhs.org/events/ .
