Thanks, Topfuel, for identifying CSX #994365 as the UP #5512/AMTK #4444/AMTK #4637/Echo Canyon!

So now, the only UP Budd chair for which I do not have disposition/current info is the #5511/#4443/#4644.

Just a few notes to add here:

PRR #8287 Tyrone Inn, renamed in 1956 to James Hay Reed (1st), shortly after renamed again to B.F. Jones (2nd), rebuilt to #1524 (64 seats with 12 seat smoker), to PC #1524, sold in 1976 to SEMTA #110 Berkley (reconfigured to 82 seats), leased in 1984 to Metro-North, later resold to MARC and converted in 1994 to HEP as #140 Tyrone Inn, retired in 2001 and later sold to the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, resold in 2011 to Iowa Pacific as SLRG #140 Tyrone Inn is #800767.

PRR #8284 Steubenville Inn, rebuilt to #1528 (64 seats with 12 seat smoker), to PC #1528, sold in 1976 to SEMTA #111 Birmingham (reconfigured to 82 seats), leased in 1984 to Metro-North, later resold to MARC and converted in 1994 to HEP as #149 Steubenville Inn, retired in 2001 and later resold to the Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, resold in 2011 to Iowa Pacific as SLRG #149 Steubenville Inn is #800813.

So far photos show that neither car has received its name and only SLRG 140 is in some form of Iowa Pacific paint, in its case Saratoga & North Creek paint. SLRG 149 is on the Cape Cod Central.

The latter 2 cars are now in IC Chocolate & Orange (I'm assuming this is a vinyl application over the stainless), and carry MRLX reporting marks (as #1480 and #1488). The #1498 is still in Tuscan Red with N&W lettering. Question: did plans/priorities change at TVRM, and the decision was made to also sell these 2 cars to MRLX along with the #1498, or do these 2 carry said reporting marks for [an]other reason[s] (UMLER, etc.)?

Also in the consist was Iowa Pacific's #133/#800766 Chambersburg Inn (ex-Hagerstown Roundhouse Museum, exx-MARC 42 seat café lounge #133 Chambersburg Inn [rebuilt 1991, stored 2001], exxx-NJT 64 seat coach-12 seat smoker #5428 [no name, rebuilt 1980], exxxx-#1544, exxxxx-PC #1544, exxxxxx-PRR #1544 [Class P85L, rebuilt 1963], nee-Class PS21B 21RM sleeper #8251 Chambersburg Inn).

Hi Folks,

I'm new to the RPN forums. I'm trying to find details on some of the coaches currently in service on the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. Several of these are former Akron Metro, former MARC, former PRR Budd Coaches that were originally built as 21-Roomette Sleepers in 1949.

I think I have most of them identified but I'm still unclear on the origins of car 166. Can anyone identify 166's original name and number?

I belive it is PRR # 8260 "GREENSBURG INN", which became coach # 1540, then NJT # 5426, then MARC 166. While in service to MARC, the name was installed as a tribute to the cars heritage.

The only cars that were reassigned their names at MARC were the 140's and the Hagerstown Inn and Braddock Inn. While the decals were made for all of the 140's, I believe winter intervened, and not all actually got their names back. The names of the 140's were on a small panel at the end of the letterboard with a keystone, followed by the car name in Maryland DOT italic font over the term "MARC Heritage Fleet" in helvetica.

So for the ones CVSR has, did these go to Conrail in 1976 before going to NJT in 1983? When were they sold to the MARC, 1989? Also, it appearances MARC upgraded their seating capacity to 80 in 1991?
