According to the Rock Island Technical Society's discussion group, the Topeka Chapter, NRHS will be making a tour of the Horton, Kansas area on March 29, 2003. This will include the remaining shop buildings of the Rock Island at Horton, which closed many decades ago. Horton was on a RI line between Beatrice, Nebraska and Topeka, abandoned in the 1970s. The tour departs from Gage Bowl North in N. Topeka (200 NE US 24) at 8AM on March 29. Couldn't find an e-mail contact, but Topeka Chapter info is below.
