From the Nevada Department of Cultural Affairs, State Historic Preservation Office (linked below):
“The 1995 Nevada Legislature provided $20 million for one of the most far-reaching initiatives for cultural resources in the history of Nevada. The legislation makes $2 million available each year for the following decade. Funding is intended to rehabilitate historic buildings for use as cultural centers. The program emphasizes projects that will be for the public good and that will benefit tourism.”
