Looking for coal equipment drawings

Hi folks. I'm trying to locate good drawings for wooden, narrow-gauge coal country equipment: Hudson Coal, Glen Alden, etc.

I'm working up a display, and need to be as accurate as possible.

Happy to pay postage or copy costs, and email files should be hi resolution. All I have found so far are third generation and impossible to read.

Thats one thing I do not have in my Coal collection..

Are you looking for narrow gauge mine cars or early wooden standard gauge cars?

Hi Chris,

Have you tried contacting the guys at the Underground Miners site? They seem to be the authorities on narrow gauge equipment from the PA coal fields, and I remember reading that they were restoring a Glen Alden mine car a few years ago, so perhaps they've got drawings on hand.

Yep. Already there.

Their archives are offsite and not readily accessible.

I'd try the #9 mine and Museum in Lansford, Pa, and the Anthracite Museum in Scranton has some considerable archives. Also some of those coal company archives PROBABLY ended up at the Hagley Museum or the Hugh Moore Park & Museum in Easton.....Lance Metz @ Hugh Moore would know.

Chris, you might want to take a look at the two coal cars on display along side the Brooks Mine in Nay Aug park. I believe that there is also one inside the mine that may be more accurate but you'd need to secure permission to view it.

I waved cash and offered to bring the completed cars to them for display during an event.
