I suspect this will gather few replies, but I hope something comes of this inquiry.

I am currently tasked with the manufacture of a new boiler plate for a 1907 Henschel built locomotive. The plate is oval in shape, and has been long gone from the locomotive. The plate differs from Henschel plates 1910 and onwards, as those change to a round style and might also change the text and form of marking.

By any chance at all do members of this board have photos or an example in their collection that they would be willing to share photos of?

Do you mean "builder's plate" rather than "boiler plate"? If so, a German-language board might be your best bet, even ebay.de, the SP9010 team has found artifacts on there. I couldn't find one from your era but found a newer one as an example:

There are as many if not more railroad buffs in Germany as here, with a little luck (and more German language skills then I possess) you might find collectors. Good luck!

In this case, no. We have the original builders plates as visible in the photo below. The boiler plate has a construction number for the boiler, and should also mention the pressure the boiler can handle.

Ah, German language skills would be helpful, I am sure a German steam fan would know the technical term for that item and could do a web search. "Boiler plate" is translated into "boilerplate" by some translation programs, which is a sort of defensive wording in legal documents.

"Boiler plate" in a noncolloquial meaning over here refers to the special grade of steel used to make the boiler itself. Your photo makes it clear that that isn't what you are needing...... I hope you find a good representative nearby. I know of a few small German narrow gauge industrial tank engines that found their way over here, not sure if I've ever noticed a manufacturers plate on the boiler of any of them like yours. You might try the two foot gauge owners association.
