I recently saw a nice photo of Mississippian 2-8-0 #77 pulling 6 boxcars and a caboose over a wood pile driven trestle. I believe this photo dates to after the Consolidation had gone to Alabama and then came back to Amboy. The 2-8-0 eventually moved on up to Canada but my question concerns the first car in the consist; a neat little Central of Georgia boxcar #4343. The car carried a CofG square herald and the slogan "The Right Way." Anybody know if this car still exists; perhaps at a railroad museum somewhere?

The CofG 4343 (built 1937) does indeed still exist. The "Survivors" list on the Central of Georgia Railway Historical Society web site indicates the car is currently at the Huntsville Depot Railroad Museum in Huntsville, AL. I have not seen the car, but I hope it is being well cared for. There are precious few CofG boxcars, or any freight equipment for that matter, preserved in museums.
