It seems that the state funding of approximently $1 Million dollars to extend the V&T from Gold Hill to Carson City is very possible. The committing looking over the bill had some good things to say about it.

In sadder news, it seems two of the four remaining major railroad structures in Reno will be torn down to make way for the Reno Trench.

Stores located in the historic "Freight House" mini mall are advertising close-out and moving sales because the mini-mall will close.

The the redeveloped building the mall is located in is the former SP Reno Frieghthouse. It is beautifull art-deco cement structure built in the 1930s.

The former SP passinger depot, currently in use by Amtrak, will also be torn down in the trench project. It is a nice medium sized neo-classical strucure built in the 1920s that was also used by the V&T when it was in Reno.
