Former Cornell Equipt. at Gettysburg Being Scrapped

[There is also an ex-CN Canadian Flyer car (PREX 508). I don't know the CN number, but it isn't being cut yet.]

As of yesterday PREX 508 is still there, sitting next to the enginehouse.

In 1989 I visited the Gettysburg RR. North of town was a former BERWIND two bay hopper car. There used to be thousands of those in Pennsylvania. What ever happened to it? It was truly a significant piece of rolling stock.

Sloan Cornell bought this car from Berwind when he was building the Penn View Mountain Railroad. It later went to Gettysburg and then to his Knox & Kane Railroad. It was purchased by the Everett Railroad in 2005 and moved to Claysburg, PA, where it is stored, pending restoration.
