How much does an SW8 weigh?

Does anyone out there know how much an EMD SW8 locomotive weighs? Also, how much do items such as the generator and prime mover weigh? I am trying to figure out how much of a diet I need to put one on in prder to move it by truck. The most the trucker can haul is 92 tons, the locomotive in question has friction bearings and is missing some brake system components so moving it on its own wheels will present a problem.

230,000 lbs. (115 Ton)

I have componet weights in a book at work.You will want to remove the trucks to ship over the highway. Each truck will make a legal load for any normal truck.30,000 lbs each (give or take). that should bring the carbody weight down to what your truck driver can handle. (make sure your T.M. leads are labeled.
E-mail me off site and I will provide you with the name of the trucking company that brought a G.E. 80 tonner from San Fran to Ohio for me. He also hauls the Titanic chunks around VERY GOOD company!

The Army claimed that ours are 100 tons.

Our brake contractor made a comment during the 92-day on our recently-acquired Air Force RS4TC that the horsepower magically jumped from 500 to 630 beween 2000 and 2001. The unit WAS repowered, but that happened in 1992.

So, take the Army's contention of 100 tons for an SW8 accordingly... :o)
