The Museum of Transportation has been contacted by a person who inquired about this line, having found something with its name on it. We can only find a mention in Taber's directory indicating a photo exists at the Degolyer Library at SMU. The name is not listed in Railroad Names by Edson, nor can we find it in Poors. Can anyone help us? We suspect this may be a "paper" railroad that was encorporated to build some line, immediately leased to its parent, and never operated a train under this name.

This railroad name (fictional?) seems to have been used in the 1939 movie production "Jesse James"--one of the early James flicks, starring Tyrone Power as Jesse and Henry Ford as Frank.

A "St. Louis Midland" railroad agent kicks off the plot by trying to buy out Jesse's mother's farm at low cost--the James resist--trouble ensues.

This railroad name also seems to be associated with a Jesse James wanted poster--whether real or movie relic relating to the 1939 movie, I don't know.
