Kelly, Have you tried Farmers Copper for copper pipe? As recently as last summer we bought 1/2" schedule 80 from them.

Availability of thick walled copper pipe has also been a challenge for live steam model boiler builders.

These Metropolitan injectors are similar to the Hancock "inspirators". They are fundamentally different from the Nathan/Sellers injectors in two ways: the water feed and the mechanical valve connection on the overflow to the starting handle. On a Nathan/Sellers, the lower valve is a water stop valve. On a Hancock, the lower valve controls the steam flow to a second set of nozzles. The water suction and the water injection are separated into two separate steam nozzles. The water suction is then controlled by regulating the steam to the suction nozzles.

The overflow on these Metropolitan/Hancock is a pain, because the lever action closes the overflow whether the suction/injection ratio is correct or not, and sometimes causes it to fail to catch. That is why the disconnect for the action is provided. Also, the overflow ceases to provide a visual clue of operation.

Also Williams Metals. They're closer to you so shipping might be cheaper.

I am looking for info on a metropolitan injector size 5n. this was apparently used on a barn hart log loader. my intent is to construct a reasonable faxcimily for a model. I can scale my drawing but only have this one view.
