In this case, MEC means Midland Electric Coal Co., which used secondhand 0-6-0s from the Minneapolis & St. Louis and Burlington, into the early 1960s. No. 1548 was the only one saved, an ex-CB&Q engine. It's now displayed at Quaker Square in Akron, Ohio. Anyone have recent photos?
