Last B&M GP-7?

Came across this photo in the Nerail archive. It may be the very last extant Boston & Maine GP-7. The picture was apparently taken in September of last year with the loco spotted near some grain elevators in Springfield, Illinois. Still wearing Guilford/Springfield Terminal colors and the number #32, this engine may be ex-B&M #1568 built in 1952.

The photo was taken from a distance and sort of reminds of the infamous "Patterson 8mm Bigfoot footage".

Good to see it still around. It's definitely worth preserving, and probably is the last B&M GP7 extant. I remember hostling it years ago, when it had just been rebuilt, circa 1980. It would look good in the original maroon and gold. The photo below shows what happened to most of them.

No it is not the last one. Union Tank Car in Marion Ohio has the 1560. The amount of work and money they put into tells me It will be around for quite a while. Lot's of body work and all new wire just to name a little bit of the work done.We had it in the shop for almost a year.

While looking at one of my dad's pictures I noticed a familiar diesel in the background. Perhaps they'll see each other again.
