I will be there for the Promontory celebration on May 10... likely at the SP/UP historical Society gathering on Thursday...

I am there for the celebration of the historic event... seeing the Big Boy and such will be a bonus... (and a zoo)

For at least May 10, in traditional dress... mustard pants.. a brocade vest... a red cravat... hat uncertain but either a brown bowler, a black top hat (low) or a black slouch hat (all seen in historic photos... )

I'll be attending the joint meeting from the SPH&TS side.

I understand that the registration table will provide walk-up only for entrance to the presentations and to the vendor room. Early registrants were able to get the bus transport to Promontory on the 10th and the Saturday evening banquet.

Over the last year, I have added a selection of heritage western clothing and will be so garbed for the visit to Promontory. (This was planned prior to seeing Randy's post)

Have no fear, they are planning to tour the western 2/3 of the USA with 4014. Many of you will have a chance to see her (I mean him) coming to a UP mainline near your hometown in the next year or so.

And, in case you have any doubts, you can take my word for this ---- if 4014 has made it this far, HE'LL make it the rest of the way and then some....

YEA BUDDY !!!
