Great job and a well done to the Strasburg Crew! Does this mean all of her rods and pistons are in place now?

Some back story on it: https://coloradorailroadmuseum.org/2018 ... s20update/

I have seen reports that the RGS wrung every last drop out of it, e.g. when it was first disassembled it was found that the main rod shims were not brass but Campbell's Soup cans, the writing could still be seen on them.

It may not be the golden age of mainline steam, but it sure as heck is a golden age of steam. Legends coming back. Unthinkable restorations completed and more on the way. It’s quite something. - Rob

What more can I add? It's a great job, something we shouldn't be seeing--but we are anyway, and not just the only example! (Yeah, No. 4014 is another, and the list still isn't complete!)

I remember reading a story about how this locomotive was traveling though a deep cut of snow in the middle of the night. A drunk man was walking between the rails and the #20 ran him over. It's good to finally see this locomotive back together. I know the Colorado Railroad museum has spent probably more to get this restored then it would have cost to build it from scratch.

Will it be returning to Colorado by road or rail (on a flatcar)?

Kelly, is this locomotive compliant with Part 230?

I saw No. 20 move under its own power about 3 hours ago, and it does make all the right noises! Congratulations to LInn Moedinger, who handled the throttle on the first move, and the entire Strasburg shop team!
