Denver trolley arrives for restoration

Thursday saw the arrival of Denver tramways 04 after a 20 year wait for full cosmetic restoration. Looking forward to turning this into the beautiful object it should be for the city of Arvada.

Was this car once on display in downtown Denver, near the (then) new light rail tracks, say 25 years ago?

Wow, I am shocked that this car still exists (an interurban rather than a trolley). My parents (and before them grandparents) live up the road on Hwy. 72, the right of way for the D&I to Leyden was still visible in places along Hwy. 72 around 25 years ago but I bet it is all gone now. An older wood car for the D&I line to Golden is at the CRM.

This body was certainly located at the I-25/Broadway Light Rail stop in September 1999 when I photographed it.

Looks like a completely different body design to me.

EDIT It was a totally different one - Denver Tramways 117.
