River Street in Savannah and downtown Albany, GA. Unsure if there's any more traffic on River Street, it was petering out some years back. The locomotive loudly played Dixieland Jazz recordings instead of constantly blowing air horns to warn tourists.

I'm pretty sure the Pioneer Valley Railroad have the small Street running section in Holyoke MA.

Back in the late 1970s, I used to drive on Delaware Avenue in Philadelphia. The tracks were still used by a curious assortment of railroad vehicles.

Sometimes I would be sitting at a traffic light and a track mobile pulling a couple of freight carrs would pull up behind me. Rubber tires and steel wheels both at once! And other times a diesel switcher with a train of box cars would roll down the street.

Sadly, I was not enough of a rail fan to notice what kind of railroad ran those trains. I was too busy watching the streetcars, Light Rail Vehicles and streetcar subways. Tons of Traction in the City of Brotherly Love!

Should have thought of this earlier... In Rockford, IL there is a remnant of the C&NW Kenosha - Rockford "KD line" that runs in North Madison St. for a mile or so on the east side of the Rock River. The Rockford Park District uses the track on the weekends to run their "Trolley 36", a non-electric reproduction of a single truck open car, but the line is still in service (UP now) because it serves customers in Loves Park, the next town north along the river. On the lighter side, part of a street running line, now abandoned, at Ritson Road and Bruce Street, in Oshawa, Ontario. Unfortunately, date and photographer are not available from the Facebook source.

Besides abandonment, the house and perhaps one immediately adjacent to the left have been demolished and replaced with newer structures. The white house visible across the street is still there, though resided and a different color now.

How many of us might appreciate older houses like this? How many would appreciate the house and its location?

(I would, but I'm not so sure about my wife!)

I saw a mention of the Ballard Terminal Railroad here. Does anyone know about the trolley (streetcars) cars that are on their Ballard Ave. property? I tried to contact them using the e-mail addresses given but no luck. Does anyone know of a good e-mail address they will answer to?
