He did? News to me and I am the one that moved it back. Might want to have your facts straight before posting online.

So you are confirming it WAS moved, but not inspected?

Yes it was moved, I am not going to deny that. I was correcting the previous false statements made by an individual.

The 2860 really has no place in this thread as its to do with the 2816.

Get what facts straight? You just said you moved it. I saw a photo of Al and somebody else inspecting it. You personally said yourself on Facebook it was "getting a look over". You don't do that just for the fun of it.

Regards,

Why was it moved then? I see nothing wrong with mentioning another locomotive if the conversation turns that way.

This is now going in circles as you changed your story.

Al was not inspecting it, yes it was moved to the service building a few times over the course of a month, we have been accused of moving it for fun (thanks to the railfan community, not you, others)

The community does not make it easy on organizations and companies for whatever reason when it comes to this sort of thing.

Rest assured time will tell, all these engines are in good hands with people that care about them, 2816 included.

I didn't change anything. It was you who gave conflicting information between here and Facebook.
You didn't say why it was moved.

BTW, I know Al looked at it. He was there for Don Evan's service and gave it a good looking over at the shop across the street while there. Looks like Al to me in the photo...

I don't know, couldn't this picture of Mr Broadfoot in work boots and hi viz, looking at the underside of 2860 have been shot in the same soundstage they faked the moonlanding in??

Why is it such a big deal about bringing Broadfoot in to inspect the locomotive? Why the secrecy?

Al was not brought in by the WCRA to look over the locomotive, that is straight pure fact. There is no secrecy here.

The next time people want to know information I will think twice about posting information for the greater good and leave you all speculating.

I never said he was brought in by the WCRA. Maybe Al was just there and it was Scott Lindsey from Steam Operations Corp., who was also there, that did the inspection. It seems to me my information was pretty damn close.
If there is no secrecy why have you not answered my question as to why it was moved to the former BC Rail shops across the street and why didn't you mention Scott Lindsey was there?

If I may, I'd like to offer a few remarks.
Here's a shot of the Hudson being pushed into the ex-BCR shop, for it's inspection.
I assume Christian was running 6520.

Al Broadfoot was indeed there, but not in an official capacity.
Another experienced steam person was doing the actual inspection.
Al Broadfoot was there on other business.

As the Royal Hudson has world wide following,
Christian Vazzaz is stuck between a rock and a hard place.

There are things going on about the future of 2860, that he is not at liberty to disclose.
The more he says...the more questions are asked.
So he has wisely chosen to say as little as possible, and who can blame him.

There is a lot going on behind the scenes, and a great deal of money is involved.

When things are worked out by the Board, no doubt we will be told.

Just my 2 cents.

Old Smokey.

Why is "no comment" so hard?

Steven,
I can't speak for Christian, but I would guess he was trying to be helpful, and it came back to bite him.
Experienced people know when to say No Comment.
Less experienced people do not.

So yes, in this case, maybe he should have.
But I bet the next time he will...

The other experienced steam guy is Scott Lindsey. I've been told a significant amount of money has been offered towards the rebuild of 2860. I do not know where specifically it would come from.
