I'm trying to track down two locomotives that seem to have become lost. Both entered our database via a newsletter from, I think, The St. Louis & Chain of Rocks Railroad Association that dates back to the early 1980's.

Both locomotives were said to be stored at the TRRA shops in Brooklyn, IL. Wes Barris doesn't list them, and I'm pretty sure they're not in Brooklyn anymore.

The two locomotives are:

Union Electric Co. of Illinois 0-4-0F No. 3 and
United States Navy 0-4-0F No. 7

Any help as to the current whereabouts of these two locomotives would be greatly appreciated.

Have some corrections for engines in NY:

NYS&W engine #142. Move her to Butler, NJ. Status- stored, operable.

Army engine in Milford. Move her to Cooperstown, NY. Status- display. Owner- Delaware Otsego Corp. Ex US Army #4038, Virginia Blue Ridge #8.

Engine in Cooperstown, Sand Company. Left Cooperstown in the 60s/70s. Last I knew it was in Lake George, NY.

One more correction for NY:

Connecticut Power & Light Co. #2 has been at the
Rochester & Genesee Valley Railroad Museum in Rush, NY along with BNY #12 for a few years.

Both engines are under evaluation for possible return to operation. #2 would probably be the first out of the shop right now if we decide to proceed.

.....is quite out of date. On your site, you invite updates and additional information, which I sent months ago, but the errors persist. A interesting and useful site, but don't forget, engines move around and change hands. A printed record (J. David's books for example) is fixed at a given time, but a website should be easily able to reflect new info.

Mr. Pincus is exactly right. The updates should have been made from the information he so kindly provided. I've gone back through and made all the changes he suggested. I'm still working on the ownership changes. Due to the odd way in which I designed the database, ownership records are harder to update than they ought to be. I am going to rewrite that part of the Cold Fusion code, and the SQL database in the coming weeks.
