"A cab off a Rutland locomotive is on display in Madrid NY, just a few hundred feet away from the New York & Ogdensburg's remnant of Rutland's New York division.

https://northcountrynow.com/news/centur ... day-014494

I believe this is the largest piece of a Rutland steam locomotive still in existence. Otherwise there are just bells, whistles, and builder's plates to the best of my knowledge."

The wooden cab from this Rutland 0-6-0 #100 rotted away, but the firebox portion has been saved, moved and put on display inside the locomotive back shop at the Age of Steam Roundhouse Museum in Sugarcreek, Ohio. The roundhouse is closed for the winter, but will reopen for tours in May 2020. Come visit us to see this rare Rutland relic and 22 complete steamers on display, including our soon-to-arrive ex-B&LE 2-10-4 #643. Be safe.

Sad I missed the chance to see it locally when it was just 20 minutes away, but glad to hear that it has a good home.

Off the top of my head, and a bit off topic, but there is a complete Rutland steam locomotive deep in the woods of Maine. Very isolated, it was used on a logging railroad. It sits alongside another locomotive, that may be of NYC ancestry. It's been awhile since I've read about them, but I'm sure one of them is a former Rutland engine.

Not Rutland, but I believe the 4-6-0 in Maine is an Indiana Harbor Belt locomotive. Still interesting because that’s the only IHB locomotive left.

Missouri Pacific #124 in the news again. The good news is that a buyer has reportedly been found for this poor loco.
