UP 8444 stopped in Laramie, 1972. A few fans here, but mostly just local folks who find it interesting also.

One of my memories of steam in the 70's (or early 80's) was riding behind SP 4449 from LA to Oxnard. Racing through the San Fernando Valley, we passed a small industrial plant with the whole staff on the loading dock--probably owner to janitor. I can imagine the boss getting on the PA system "Everyone out on the dock, you'll see something you'll never see again!!."
