Strasburg's Cagney and other "Park Trains"

Hello All

Been working on a new web page, taking a look at various park train operations. Its alot of fun, and a pleasant diversion from "big time" railroading. Alot of this stuff is historic in its own right.

Hershey Park did have an electric train that ran from the RDG Co. station into the park. As I recall it had the power car in the middle and was double ended. Is it still around?

I've seen pictures of it in an excellent book about the history of Hershey Park. All I could ever find out is that the (third rail) electric train was removed in the late 60's because it was considered unsafe and would cost too much to re-work. I have no idea where it went and if it survives, but you're right it had an electric locomotive in the middle with two cars before and 2 cars trailing it. The NRHS even chartered it for a special in the 50's.

While putting on a display at the Hershey Museum several years ago on Hershey trolleys, I heard that the electric train was in storage somehwere in Hershey. Not sure who actually would own it now and I was unable to see it.
