I was inside and around the car yesterday.

I did look for stenciling in the area of the doors. I found nothing about the identity of a previous owner, but I know more about the door.

It is a Youngstown Steel door; 6' 0" by 9' 10"

I had a conversation with Tom Davidson earlier today at some length about this car. Short answer, not enough information to definitively say what it is for sure. Likely a post-steam era car, possibly one of the Pullman Standard early PS-1 steel cars bought used by the AC&Y from the New Haven in the early 1960s, which would make it a good candidate for preservation by our friends in New England as a New Haven car. It would have been helpful if the stencil that showed the built date clearly could have been taken, or a photo showing the top of the end ladder (if still existing) and how it attaches to the top of the car by the roof catwalk (again if that still exists). Amazingly, that little detail tells a lot about the sub-model and prior ownership of the car.
