Thanks for your thoughts John, I agree.

While I agree that good leadership is hard to find, how many organizations are being run by the same old guys that have been on the board of directors for 30-40 years? I think that’s the reason many new organizations like the WWF in Maine can get so much done so quickly.

"Politics makes strange bedfellows", and what an organization may have to do to survive in a political world might bring on an accusation of "sleeping with the enemy". I've seen many organizations get into trouble because they wouldn't talk to local politicians.
