Simon Townsend in the UK has completed reboilering and rebuilding his Cagney 4-4-0. The link below shows it operating on some of the 15" gauge railways over there. This engine ran on the minature Lancaster & Chester line in a S. Carolina park in the early 1950s, with two other Cagneys. It was owned by Colonel Elliot Springs, who owned the local textile mill, and I believe, the full size Lancaster & Chester RR as well. Exotic dancer Gypsy Rose Lee was one of the line's vice presidents. Cagneys are cute and durable little machines, and antiques in their own right. If one can be found that the owner doesn't think is worth $1 million, they are a good practical steam project for the average small group of enthusiasts, and a historic addition to any city park.
