Maybe the Silver Lake Railroad in New Hampshire can get it so they'll have a bigger locomotive. Can't even fit a compressor on that thing?

Maybe.... our 8 tonner was retrofitted with air brakes using a small compressor, two small air reservoirs, a small straight air brake valve and two small cylinders. It has enough capacity for one car as long as you’re not over-enthusiastic. It’s a sweet little setup.

Think of all the wives who will be disappointed when they find diamond jewelry instead!

A guy I knew in Florida bought a commercial property from a tax auction for song in the late 80s, and it had a lot of track and some battered freight cars (the main had been yanked up soon after he bought the property, and nobody ever came looking for the cars, he could never get hard data on if the previous owner owned those cars or not). He bought one of these engines and had it brought by rail on the very last movement on the adjacent line before it was ripped up.
He'd invite select pals over and we'd basically play with real trains like someone plays with a small switch model railroad layout. I ran the thing several times in the 90s.
His engine was one of these. It was a real joy to run and had a lot of power for its size.

Coincidentally, IRM acquired one of these, from Lone Star Cement in Elkhart, IN, just a few days before the original posting. 25 ton version apparently. It also was the only new piece of rail equipment acquired to date in 2020. Two buses, and electric and a diesel were added to the collection earlier.
