When I started to volunteer as an operator at the Rockhill Trolley Museum I needed a pocket watch for my uniform to be complete. In the process of obtaining an appropriate watch I learned that there were watches made for electric railway trainmen. Specifically, they were for operators of interurban cars. I really enjoyed the youtube video on trolley pocket watches, it was interesting plus a learning experience. I recently picked up a pocket watch made by the Illinois watch company. The watch was made in 1925 and is keeping time.
The dial is marked Illinois Electric and also marked Railroad approved.
