Anyone out there know if the Cass-Durbin Line has been
completed ? Will be headed down that way in the near future.
Would like to get some images of all the new painted D&GV
Rolling stock.
Thanks in advance.

No, as of last week, the abutments were done and backfilled, but no beams or decking yet. It was my understanding that is supposed to be done this fall.

Correct. The Cass to Durbin line is 60 feet from completion. Crews worked throughout the winter to build the abutments and complete the track leading up to the Trout Run bridge. Work is currently on hold as we await the arrival of bridge steel. We hope to have some additional news to share soon.

When the time comes, it would be helpful to know the backstory and what excursions you intend to operate once the line is finished.

I know they bought Buffalo Creek and Gauley 4 for the Durbin line. Any news on that locomotive?

@Alexander
;-))
...but the best on that 8.600 miles trip would be down the Sargasso Sea then up the steep grades of the Mid Atlantic Ridge...with a final through the Namib to dry...hihihi

Few years ago also the former West Virginia Northern's 2-8-0 #8 and #9 are considered to use on the Durbin Line?
Said the ownership transfered from WV RR Museum in Elkins, WV to the state of West Virginia for restoration (maybe one as parts source?) and future use on Cass-Durbin?
