Hi,

I've been asked to help gather information on the Amtrak GE E60C for a WIP project for HO Scale.

What I can't find is a builders drawing from GE for the E60C locomotives owned by Amtrak?

There seems to be a bit of a lack of information on the E60C in the form of drawings & specifications. I cannot locate the correct wheel base (truck center to center) of the E60C. The only thing I came up with was a 65' number, which I don't feel is correct, however with the double cab it could actually be?

Can anyone point me in the correct direction for technical information and builders drawings for these locomotives?

Please keep us posted on what you are abile to find out, if you could. I have heard that the E60s delivered to Amtrak were designed with the intention of being redirected to freight service if Amtrak was dissolved.

The E60s delivered to the Black Mesa and Lake Powell, and the Deseret-Western Railway had much longer service lives - rivaling those of the Little Joe and many classes of PRR electrics. While 3 are preserved, the story of their development and delivery remains largely undocumented.
