The announcement by the C&T doesn't change their train operations, it just allows a passenger to ride one-way on the train and a bus back. The railroad has already been operating from both ends of the line, but they couldn't get charter buses for the deadhead move. The mask requirement is for the buses, masks were not required on the train when I rode in early July, especially in the open cars.

One interesting challenge was that New Mexico rules kept the equipment separated. Locomotives and cars couldn't swap ends with the rules, so getting equipment in and out of the shops was a problem according to the staff. This was supposed to end about the end of July.
