 Post subject: PCB's in MP-54's ?
PostPosted: Sat Sep 13, 2003 10:35 pm

Greetings all,

It is my understanding that all varients of PRR MP-54 cars did not use PCB's, as they were designed before the invention of PCB's in the 1950's. Are the remaining cars PCB free, or were they later upgraded by the PRR to use more modern equipment.

Many thanks,
Tom Cornillie

I think PCB's go back to the 1930's. I think the first one was General Electric Perinol (sp?) This has been causing GE headaches for years from clean up costs in the Hudson River in NY and the Housatonic River in MA
