Heard rumblings that the 611 people approached Muller about running on the RBMN. Apparently he wasn't very interested (given, as said already by someone else, that they have their own 4-8-4) but said he'd let them run if he got a good chunk of the revenue (MUCH more than what Strasburg is getting). This pretty much ended the conversation.

I imagine 1361 will end up visiting RBMN, given the new owners' plans. In fact, to relate back to the current conversation, it seems that the folks in Altoona are taking a page out of Britain's book.

Wait; did I miss something? RBMN has a new owner? Thought I was well read and connected, but this is the first I have heard of this. Please tell...

I believe he is saying the new owners of PRR #1361, not that R&N has a new owner.

I don't believe the ownership of 1361 has changed; it is still the museum in Altoona, per a quick online search. What has changed dramatically is the project leadership, and the engineering team. That previous post was a bit confusing, at best.

Yes, confusing at best. What has dramatically changed is the Altoona Railroaders Memorial Museum has gone through a complete redoing of its senior leadership. Industry icon C.W. "Wick " Moorman is now the Chairman and the BOD now includes many accomplished professionals. The previous "managers" who so badly "led" the 1361 debacle are gone,..... thank goodness.

The new leadership team has contracted the firm FMW Solutions, LLC to be the lead contractor for bringing the 1361 back to life and they are well on their way towards that goal.

Happy New Year, Ross Rowland
