Not what you think, but in China early this year. This line was due to close this past spring. Anyone know if it did?

Bob,

I visited the Weihe line in January and it was fantastic, but the employees all said it was due to close by April. According to "International Working Steam" at http://dialspace.dial.pipex.com/steam/china.htm
the line closed on March 20.

With double headers, pushers on steep grades, spar tree and high line loading, horse and ox teams hauling logs in from the woods, it was fantastic. The engines were tiny, but the exhausts were loud and the five chime copies of UP Star Brass whistles echoed through the snowy forest. We'd stand alongside the tracks after it was too dark to shoot pictures, just to listen. It sent chills up my spine. Through my fingers too, since it was 10 below zero!
