Thanks for the update. it will be very interesting to see what the trial discloses.

I went on the Wasatch RR Contractors website and on there you'd never know that they're in the hot water they are, nor that their shop has lost its AAR certification.

Another example of the importance of doing due diligence.

In fairness, it's been my observation that one of the first people out the door - voluntarily or involuntarily, is the employee or contractor responsible for web page and facebook maintenance. What usually happens is the URL registration expires and they....just.... disappear.

You certainly can't just a situation through that window, just sayin. I could show another half-dozen like that across a wide spectrum of businesses.

I just 'Googled' Wasatch, and the first hit showed "Permanently Closed'' in red. I opened the second listing, and way at the bottom was a 2019 copyright date, so I agree; first person let go was probably the web person.

I now noticed the " permanently closed " in red notice on the Google page. I also just Googled the name John Rimmasch and it led to the Dec. 2021 article on his Federal indictment on fraud charges which is about to go to trial.

I would love to add to the positive posts. However since I’ve been watching I haven’t seen any positive posts that me chiming in would add anything to. I am not a Reading expert. However that thread is deeply interesting. I’m not a covid freak. The recent Cagney thread is neat but answered quickly, as are many of the threads here that within a handful of comments reach the verdict and get forgotten. No new methods. No hints tricks or tips for the next generation. Nothing.

I bitch because I would love to help out and learn. However I have watched social media pages and I have watched this page and thread and anyone outside of the norm is always bashed. So why would I post my name, someone who is young themselves, or my opinion on something different when I can guarantee I will get ridiculed and name called and torn down and pushed away. Being unknown gives me the ability to act incognito and offer other opinions without being called an idiot. So that’s how I will leave it for now.

I know diesels, I know steam to an extent. But I know rolling stock restoration very well. Threads I can chime in on, I will. Until then, I’ll continue to go against the agree mob and try to be devils advocate.

Yes, it's quite obvious that he's now posting on yet another cover name.

Look, the importance of this should be quite obvious to all concerned.The individual in question was the subject of voluminous reports of substandard work on locomotives, corner cutting etc. When the K&T case became a well circulated public record of some of this issue in detail it was obvious that where there was all that smoke there was indeed fire.

It will be instructive and important to examine the trial testimonies carefully as we may well learn more.

As many learned professionals in our industry have opined, we dodged a potentially fatal bullet, for which we need to be most grateful.

Thanks to today's realities anyone doing contractor due diligence in the future will certainly find sufficient cause to avoid this one at all cost.

Yes, and I'll probably be getting an email threatening legal action ......oh wait, that's right his lawyers are plenty busy trying to keep him out of jail so I guess we're safe for now.
