This is pretty funny.

All the posts I've seen were rather meh, basically railfan versions of McSweeney's.

There is an empty shopping center a few miles from where I live -- the stores have all left because the plaza's owner is going to demo and build a new mixed used development on the site. A neighborhood prankster borrowed a large banner from a local strip club, hung it on empty grocery store's facade, and then posted a warning on Nextdoor.com about the strip club moving into the old store. That was the best April Fool's prank I saw this year - the post got over a hundred replies, most of them angry about the strip club moving in.

Hicks Car Works posted that IRM was building a professional restoration shop (heated, clean, with lifts, etc) for the electric car department. This is painfully funny to people who know how things are at that organization.

Anyway, I think that we can accept a world on RYPN without the tomfoolery, due to the overwhelming consistent nature of the readership.

Please understand:
What you have just stated is that the readership and participants of this forum--and possibly, by implication, all rail preservationists and rail enthusiasts--are "overwhelmingly consistent[ly]" afflicted with Asperger's Syndrome, and more specifically to such a degree that they are humor-impaired to the degree that they are unable to relate to or understand humor that does not adhere to specified formats, parameters, and constructs such as riddles or "knock-knock" jokes.

The fact that, in the past, participants in this forum have largely reacted with humor and grace, and not offense, to such posts (and even right now in this thread), and only a vocal minority raised objections, should be evidence of the falsity of this proposition.

Indeed, if we really look at what the cited web page is saying, it would be only the ones who find such April Fool's posts hither and yon to be "unfunny" and "tedious" to be the ones that would be subject to a "diagnosis" of Asperger's.

I'm a-jes' gonna leave you to defend, and die on, that mountain of supposition........

Actually, I think most of the ire is because some things in 4/1 posts kinda' happened..(they did update 514 with 645 packs, and some other modern components, if I recall correctly)
