Hi
I have been up on the AT&SF 2926 website, for the past couple weeks, and there has not been any new news about the locomotive.

The last thing I saw was on Facebook, showing the locomotive was having the last remaining pieces of the boiler jacket being put on.

If it is possible would someone from the 2926 website, either bring the 2926,website up to date, or comment on this website. There has not been any new news in while.

A friend on mine receives your newsletters, and he has not heard of any NEW NEWS???? Thank you, Pat .

I’d imagine there’s little news because there’s either not much that’s actually new to report on, or the few things that are occurring are things that some wouldn’t believe are important to cover. Reading on their website, sounds like it’s a mix of both. That’s the thing with many restoration groups: big newsworthy moves can’t be expected to happen every week, every month or even every year.

Just because there isn’t much if any recent news doesn’t mean that things aren’t happening however. I’m not affiliated with this group but given that it’s Golden Spike day, and many organizations are coming out of slumber and starting to get ready for the summer season, I don’t anticipate that the silence lasts that long.

There is also a major forest fire east of ABQ that may be diverting volunteer attention.

I don’t believe that would be the biggest reason though. The updates haven’t exactly been coming since late January: and I don’t believe that specific Wildfire has been there for over 3 months

I'm a life member there and a very long distance supporter.

Basic situation is that the 2926 is just about finished being restored and they are now fund raising to finance the expensive, mandatory track work needed on their siding to let them get onto the mainline system.

They should be issuing a fund raising update very soon.
