Good day from Vancouver Washington!

I have been doing research and trying to find SP steam locomotive restoration projects and received word about Mogul #1771. It claims on Wikipedia that it is undergoing restoration by the CSRM(California State Railroad Museum) Yet when I search anywhere else, I get results saying it's "Collecting Dust". So does anyone know if the project still active? Or is it cancelled.

Thanks,

Have a good day,

Another victim of cancel culture?

The most logical thing is that the project is "on hold" as I imagine CSRM has more important pressing matters on hand that takes priority over 1771's restoration. I can't say for sure, I don't volunteer for them, this is just my guess-timate on the matter.

Yeah, it wasn't completely covered in flags for memorial day so some local patriots drug it to Sawenhalve's yard.

It was found that the knuckle sheet had been poorly repaired and had cracks. CSRM figured the boiler repairs were too costly. AFAIK, it has been a dead issue for decades.
