For a REALLY old 261 photo, check Kalmbach's "The Mohawk That Refused to Abdicate." In the first installment of "Smoke Over the Prairies" 261 is shown in Autumn, 1954, VERY dirty, leading an odd little train of 2 boxcars, 2 FM switchers and a caboose out of Milwaukee. She is also pictured at one of the 2 West Milwaukee roundhouses. Quite a coincidence, given her "star" status today.

And just yesterday that same locomotive was running down the high iron at 60 mph with 18 well maintained pasenger cars loaded with fun loving people. How things change!
