WILMINGTON & WESTERN WILL RESUME LIMITED OPERATIONS: The Wilmington & Western Railroad is pleased to announce that the trains will be ready to resume limited operations beginning the weekend of October 18th & 19th! Volunteers and staff have repaired the first section of track damaged from flash flooding on September 15, 2003. In an effort to resume limited operations, we have produced the following schedule:

Greenbank Local Trains to Wilsmere interchange and Brandywine Springs Park with optional tour of W&W Train Yard and Shop Beginning Saturday October 18th through Sunday, November 16th. Trains will depart every Saturday and Sunday every 30 minutes from 12:30 pm until 3 pm. Round trip ticket cost will be: $5.00 for Adults, $4.00 for Seniors and $3.00 for Children. An all day - non-transferable pass will cost $8.00.

Our Santa Claus Express Trains will operate every Saturday and Sunday beginning November 22nd. Last Santa Claus Express Train will be December 21st. Train Times are 12:30, 2:00 and 3:30. Santa will be on board to great the children and pass out chocolate treats. Riders should bring their own cameras for this unique photo opportunity. Cost: $10.00 for Adults, $9.00 for Seniors and $8.00 for Children. Reservations are highly recommended for this very popular event.

The Holiday Night Trains will operate on December 26, 27, 28 & 29 every hour on the hour from 5 PM until 8 PM. Cost is $5.00 per ticket.

As a non-profit organization, the RailroadÂ’s mission is to: Preserve and interpret the natural, cultural and railroad heritage of the Red Clay Valley for the education and enjoyment of the public. Wilmington & Western Railroad staff and volunteers are committed to rebuild the railroad right-of-way and bridges so that the residents of Delaware and its visitors will again be able to enjoy the wonders of this historic icon.
